Superpredictors Contest Winner

Now that some technical issues have been resolved, I am proud to say that Asaf Winer- has been named the winner of the first annual NFL Playoff contest by Superpredictors. Being able to accurately predict NFL games week in and week out is certainly not an inherent talent. We spoke with Asaf to find out why he did such an excellent job and blew the competition out of the water. This is what he had to tell us… There are obviously countless factors that we as predictors can’t control, so luck definitely plays a big part in the accuracy of predictions. But setting those factors aside, what helped me succeed on Superpredictors was the fact that I was tuned into the NFL from opening day. I made a conscious effort not to miss a week of action and stayed on top of injuries and scouting reports. The best part about watching a ton of games this season (besides for the wings and beer, of course) was that I could formulate my own opinions about the league and didn’t have to rely on mainstream commentary from so-called pundits like Mark Schlereth and Trey Wingo. So when the postseason came around, I knew the ins and outs of the playoffs teams and was able to be relatively accurate. One thing worth mentioning is that I am an intense Giants fan, so the fact that they had no part in this year’s playoffs made it easier for me to be an objective predictor (I actually had the Cowboys beating the Vikings, believe it or not). Hopefully the turnout will be better next year, because as they say- you have to be in it to win it. For now, happy March Madness to you all and thank you for participating.
